Overview
Bolt
Grip is a high strength hydraulic cement compound used for anchoring
bolts and other hardware in concrete and masonry. It is easily mixed
with water, poured or pressed into the prepared hole and achieves
initial set in 10 minutes or less depending on temperature. Bold Grip
is a proprietary blend of specialty portland cement, graded aggregates
and chemical additives used to control set time and enhance strength.

Benefits
- Quick setting,
10 minute initial set, 90 minutes to use hardware.
- Extremely
strong and durable.
- Expands as
it sets.
- Mixes easily
with clean water.
- For interior
or exterior use, above or below grade.
- Useable on
both horizontal and vertical concrete.
- Not affected
by exposure to moisture.
- Economical.

Components
and Storage
Bolt
Grip is available in 10 lb. (4.54 kg) cans, 4 per carton, and in 50
lb. (22.68 kg) pails and bags. Shelf life is 12 month if properly
stored. |
Coverage
Varies
with job site conditions and application technique. For estimating
purposes: at 1/4" (6 mm) thickness, 50 lbs. (22.68 kg) covers approximately
20 to 25 sq. ft. (1.8 to 2.3 m2) (0.5 cubic ft. (0.014 m3) of mixed
material). |

Surface
Preparation
New concrete
surfaces should be properly cured for a minimum of 28 days prior
to application. All receiving surfaces must be structurally sound,
clean, free of dust, dirt, silicones, paint products, efflorescence
or any other contaminant which could hinder bonding ability.
| |
Mixing
Mechanically
mix with a slow speed drill to produce a smooth workable consistency.
Add clean potable water:
50 lbs. (22.68 kg): Add 3 to 4 quarts (2.7 to 3.8 ltr) water.
10 lbs. (4.5 kg): Add 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 pints (.6 to .8 ltr) water.
Do not overwater! Mixing time should not exceed 90 seconds.
Do not over air entrain by excessive mixing. Caution:
Super Concrete Patch is a fast setting material. Mix only enough material
that can be placed in 10 to 15 minutes. |

Hole
Preparation
Drill "mushroomed"
holes, larger at the bottom than the top. When drilling, wobble
the drill bit to open the bottom of the hole. Remove loose particles
and dust by blowing or vacuuming. For best results, slightly dampen
the walls of the hole. Size holes according to the table below:

Hole
Preparation
Mix
Bolt Grip in a clean container with potable water to a pourable, pancake
batter consistency. Caution: Bolt Grip is a fast setting material:
mix only an amount that can be placed in 10 minutes! Note: During
hot, dry weather, use cold water to retard the set time. When the
ambient temperature is 40° F (4° C) or lower, use hot water
to accelerate the set. |
Application
Place the bolt
with the head and washer at the bottom. For horizontal concrete,
pour enough Bolt Grip in the hole so that the bolt and washer are
completely imbedded. Work the bolt up and down to eliminate air
pockets. Fill the hole with Bolt Grip while holding the bolt in
place. To place bolts in vertical walls, wait until Bolt Grip achieves
a putty-like consistency and force into hole with hands, trowel
or putty knife. Shave excess before full set. Do not apply nuts
for 90 minutes. Note: For heavy equipment allow 24 to 48 hours curing.

Clean
Up
After
completing work, clean all mixing equipment and application tools
immediately with water. During application, protect surrounding areas
from spills and splatters. Clean spills before they set. |

Limitations
Do
not apply to frozen or frost filled surfaces. Do not add antifreeze
solutions to Bolt Grip or to the area being filled. Do not retemper
Bolt Grip. Do not add sand or other foreign materials to Bolt Grip.
