Overview
Blockade Finisher is a portland cement based decorative finish material designed for application over portland cement and masonry surfaces. It provides an ideal finish coat to brown coat or surfaces treated with Merlex Super Blockade. It is a proprietary formulation of portland cements, graded aggregates and chemical additives. The correct amount of co-polymer powder is premixed in the bag, so only water is required to achieve consistent waterproofing. If your prefer to color Blockade Finisher, it will achieve its own variance of color. |

Surface
Preparation
All receiving surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, free of dust, dirt, silicones, paint products, efflorescence or any other contaminant which could hinder bonding ability. Allow new cement and masonry surfaces to fully cure (approximately 28 days) prior to application. Surface cracks, holes or voids should be repaired. Smooth or painted surfaces must be cleaned in an abrasive manner (high pressure water blast, scraping, sanding or sandblasting) to open surface pores and allow for a good bond.

Mixing
Approximately 2 gallons (7.5 Itr) of clean potable water are required for each 90 lb. (40.86 kg) bag of Btockade Finisher. It must be mechanically mixed at slow speed to produce a workable consistency suitable to your method of application. |

Application
Blockade Finisher should be applied to an approximate thickness of 3116~ (4.5 mm).
Trowel: Evenly wet substrate with clean water to control suction. Using the hawk and trowel method, apply finisher evenly to the substrate with enough pressure to ensure tight contact. Immediately double back with a second coat. When material has sufficiently taken up it may be floated or textured according to the desired finish. When covering surface defects such as grout lines, patches, or other conditions which may cause variation in suction, allow the first coat to cure for 5 days before applying the second coat.
Spray or machine: Two coats are necessary. Apply the first coat over a dry surface to produce complete coverage. Allow to cure at least 24 hours prior to application of the second coal. Note: Use approved plaster spray equipment with maximum 150 feet of hose. Do not use high pressure or airless spray equipment. |
